I passed eggs! Well, I barely passed eggs since my weight is exactly the same. I’m not egg-zactly (har-har) digesting eggs and losing weight but I’m also not having a weight spike. I’ll say that’s a green light for eggs.
My weight loss has come to a stall lately. I think I’m so close to the set point that it will take a stomach bug (aka fast track to skinny jeans) to take it the next few pounds. Not that I’m wishing for stomach bug or anything but my body has a happy place and I’m within two pounds of it. So I think I’m close to the end of my weight loss.
Today is the first day that I really miss sweets. I don’t think I’m physically craving sweets but I’m on the other side of finishing the Plan now. At this point, Joe and I are constantly thinking about and discussing that the plan ends on Saturday. We have a fridge and cabinets full of non-compliant Plan food that we need to eat. I just don’t want to waste it.
Joe wants to continue with 3 – 4 Plan friendly meals a week but without our current baseline, we won’t be able to test with much accuracy. When Anne told me she did the Plan for a year, I thought that sounded insane. Now I know why she said that. It takes quite a while to create a list of foods. To test the whole time, you have to maintain the Plan baseline to isolate the variables.
Right now, we are working to get through today 20. We are moving the next 4 days around to accommodate Valentine’s Day (testing filet mignon bought from Earth Fare that night) then opera on Thursday which is normally day 18 – restaurant day. We are switching that to Friday. Don’t worry if it sounds insane to know all of these days but if you do the Plan, you will also find yourself hanging on to each day to know which food test happens when.
We also find ourselves more liberal with choices. Since we are moving days around, we don’t have leftovers from certain days per the book. I think this shows growth because we are learning how to compose our own meals!

Breakfast
- Flax granola with 1/2 pear and coconut milk
Lunch
- Spinach salad with goat cheese and sunflower seeds (we get to pick our own veggie protein, 15g)
- Leftover zucchini and broccoli
- Cream of broccoli soup
Snack
- Carrots with almond butter
Dinner
- Chicken with spinach
- Roasted winter vegetables with spicy coco sauce
The flax granola still is tasty. The picture is not as tasty.
Lunch looks like the food Keanu Reeves has to eat when he’s outside of the matrix. It’s like Gray slop but don’t let me influence you. It’s actually quite tasty with the goat cheese and sunflower seeds.
I am hungry for snack early so I eat it early. Once again, the almond butter is so filling!
I finally forget to snap a picture of my meal today. It took me 15 days to forget so that’s not too bad. Instead, I grab a pic of our chocolate assortment. Yes, it’s gotten out of control. Yes, I drink red wine and at chocolate every night. No, I don’t feel guilty at all! Interestingly, I’ve learned that I gain more weight from one slice of wheat bread than I do 1.5 glasses of wine plus chocolates. If anything, all of the Plan is worth doing to learn that tidbit!
