Yesterday, BREAD day is the FIRST REACTIVE DAY!!! That’s for you, Theresa, who is wondering what happens on reactive days. Well, my weight goes up by 0.6 pounds because of just ONE SLICE OF BREAD. I confirm with Anne that the same happened for her with wheat bread. Interestingly, Anne can eat white bread? It goes to show you how I’ve always thought wheat, high fiber, multigrain, etc. must be better for me!
The only other time my weight goes up is when I eat all that stuff at the Superbowl party. So I can eat a whole plate of desserts and all kinds of carbs and I have the same net weight gain as one piece of bread?
I also find myself feeling very tired. I wonder if it’s psychological or if the bread is really making me tired? In theory, my body is having an inflammatory response, holding onto weight, and fighting the bread!
Now, it makes sense why the day after a test day is a rest day. It gives your body a chance to recover. Things in the book are starting to make more sense.
|Day||Date||Weight AM||Change||Temp AM||Change|
- Flax granola with fruit and coconut milk
- Sauteed kale with goat cheese, 1/4 avocado, sunflower seeds
- Cream of broccoli soup
- Chicken on mixed greens
- Roasted butternut squash with butter, cinnamon, and black pepper
- Chopped salad
- 1 ounce dark chocolate
- Weight lifting – first time back in the gym since I started the plan!
- Usual stretches. I’m working on my splits!
I’m getting tired of these flax granola pictures. I think you get the idea now. Plus, we will be transitioning off flax granola soon!
I know it looks like a mess but believe me, it’s surprisingly good and filling!
Today’s approved protein is chicken. I didn’t really get to test a protein because I have that SuperBowl blowout with barbecue and everything else. Joe says no sauces because it’s a day for our bodies to rest. I also didn’t photograph my dark chocolate but that’s kind of boring too. I actually skipped my red wine today : o
